What information is involved

Four kinds of information can arise when you use this website. Only the first reaches ARDENUX as something a person reads.

• What you choose to send

  If you email ARDENUX, it receives what your message contains — your email address, your name if you sign it, and whatever you describe about your business or your project.

• Technical information needed to deliver a page

  As with any website, the servers that deliver these pages receive the details a request carries with it: your IP address, the address you asked for, the time, and the browser and device information your browser sends. This is handled by the hosting provider named below.

• Your cookie-notice choice

  If you answer the cookie notice, your answer is saved in your own browser. The page reads it only to tell Google Tag Manager which optional categories you allowed; the stored answer itself is not sent to ARDENUX.

• Measurement information

  Google Analytics 4 measures how the site is used, within the limits of your Cookie Preferences. Before you choose, and whenever Analytics is off, Google may still receive limited cookieless signals; full measurement using analytics cookies happens only if you enable Analytics. This is described under Cookies and tracking below.

How information is used

What you send is used to reply to you, to discuss and carry out work you ask about, and to keep the ordinary records a working relationship produces. The technical information above exists so that pages can be delivered and the site kept running and secure.

Measurement information is used to understand how the website is used and to improve its performance and content.

Advertising and remarketing technologies are disabled by default and may be used only when a visitor separately enables Marketing cookies. ARDENUX makes no automated decisions about visitors.

Cookies and tracking

ARDENUX uses Google Tag Manager as this website's tag-management system, and Google Analytics 4 is configured through it. The site uses Google Consent Mode in its advanced implementation, which means your Cookie Preferences decide what Google tags are allowed to store and use.

Every consent signal starts as denied. Google tags may load in this consent-denied mode before you make a choice, and while consent is denied Google may receive limited cookieless signals — for example, that a page was viewed and what your consent state is — without analytics or advertising cookies being set or read.

Essential website functionality does not depend on Analytics or Marketing, and rejecting them does not prevent normal use of the website.

• Essential — always active

  Stores your cookie-notice answer in your browser under the name ardenux_cookie_choice: whether you allowed Analytics, whether you allowed Marketing, and when you chose, so that the notice does not appear on every visit. It cannot be switched off, because without it your choice could not be remembered.

• Analytics — storage disabled unless you enable it

  Helps ARDENUX understand how the website is used and improve its performance and content. Analytics cookies and analytics storage remain disabled until you enable Analytics cookies.

• Marketing — disabled unless you enable it

  Covers advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising measurement, remarketing, audience activation and personalized advertising. All of these remain disabled until you separately enable Marketing cookies, and allowing Analytics never allows Marketing. The website is prepared to support them after that consent; it does not mean an advertising or remarketing campaign is running.

• Changing your answer

  You can accept, reject, change or revoke either category at any time: Cookie Preferences in the footer reopens the settings, and a change takes effect straight away. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the stored answer entirely, and the notice will appear again on your next visit.

Third-party services

Fonts, images and video are all served from this site, and there are no embedded players or social media widgets. Four services are involved in running the site and in reaching ARDENUX.

• Hosting

  The site is published as static files on Hostinger shared hosting. Delivering a page is what makes its servers receive the technical request information described above.

• Google Tag Manager

  Manages the website's tags. Every page loads it from Google's servers, so Google receives the technical request information described above when a page is opened.

• Google Analytics 4

  Provides website measurement according to your Analytics choice: cookieless, consent-denied signals while Analytics is off, and full measurement with analytics cookies only after you enable it.

• Email

  The ARDENUX address is a Gmail address, so an email you send is delivered to and stored in a mailbox operated by Google.

Each of these providers handles that information under its own privacy policy and its own terms, which ARDENUX does not control. The same is true of any messaging service you choose to use to reach ARDENUX in future.

Sharing

ARDENUX does not publish what you send or pass it to anyone for their own purposes. It is handled by ARDENUX, and by the providers above only to the extent their service requires: a hosting provider necessarily receives requests, and an email provider necessarily receives email.

Information may also be disclosed where ARDENUX is required to do so by law.

How long information is kept

No fixed schedule is published here, because ARDENUX does not operate one and a number invented for this page would not be a commitment anyone could rely on.

• Enquiries and project correspondence

  Kept for as long as they are reasonably needed for what they were sent for — answering you, carrying out agreed work, and the ordinary business and accounting records that follow — and removed once they are not.

• Your cookie-notice answer

  Stays in your browser until you clear it. Nothing removes it on ARDENUX's side, because it never leaves your device.

• Hosting records

  Server records are kept for as long as the hosting provider keeps them, under that provider's own policy rather than ARDENUX's.

• Measurement information

  What Google Analytics 4 receives is kept under that service's own retention settings and Google's policies.

Security

ARDENUX takes reasonable measures to protect the information it handles through this website and through its correspondence. The site is served over an encrypted connection, and any request that arrives another way is redirected to the secure address.

No method of transmitting or storing information can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so this policy does not claim that it is.

Your choices

Most of what follows is simply a matter of what you decide to do.

• Whether to get in touch

  Nothing on the site asks for your details. ARDENUX has personal information about you only if you decided to send it.

• Your cookie preferences

  Analytics and Marketing storage stays disabled unless you turn it on. Accept, reject, change or revoke either one at any time through Cookie Preferences in the footer, or clear this site's data in your browser to remove your answer.

• Asking about what you sent

  If you have written to ARDENUX and would like to know what is held, have it corrected, or have it removed, email the address below and say what you are asking for.

Which privacy rights apply to you depends on where you live. If you believe you have a right this policy does not cover, write and explain what you need — it is better to ask than to assume the answer is no.

Visitors outside your own country

ARDENUX works remotely with businesses in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, and this website can be reached from anywhere.

That means information you send, and the information the providers named above receive, may be handled in a country other than the one you are reading this in.

Changes to this policy

This policy will change when the website or the way ARDENUX works changes.

The current version is always the one published at this address, and the date at the top of the page shows when its wording last changed.
